Meet John Shinas

John Shinas, BSME, MBA
Business Development
John Shinas brings nearly two decades of executive leadership, business development, and entrepreneurial experience to Taylor Financial. He currently serves as CEO of Insulating Services, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he has spent almost 20 years helping lead and grow the organization.
While John has built his career in the construction industry, he has long had a passion for finance, investing, and financial education. Over the years, he has enjoyed helping others better understand everything from basic financial literacy to investing and long-term wealth-building concepts. That passion ultimately led him to join Taylor Financial’s business development team, where he helps connect individuals, families, and business owners with the firm’s team and resources to build more thoughtful and comprehensive financial plans.
John approaches financial conversations much the same way he approaches business: analytically, methodically, and with an emphasis on understanding how all the pieces work together. His engineering background and experience as a CEO give him a unique perspective when working with entrepreneurs and business owners who are navigating many of the same opportunities and challenges he has experienced throughout his own career.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University. He holds his Florida 2-15 insurance license, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 registrations, as well as the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE).
Outside of work, John is an avid reader, car enthusiast, and self-described foodie. He and his wife, Stacy, have been married for 22 years and have three sons, Jacob, Nathan, and John Isaac, who goes by Isaac. When they have the chance to get away, John and Stacy especially enjoy spending time in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
