Meet Steven Lusk

Steven Lusk, Investment Director at Taylor Financial, brings a rare 360-degree view of the markets — shaped by navigating one of the most volatile stretches in recent financial history.
Steven grew up in the Tampa Bay area, splitting time between Hillsborough and Pasco County before heading to Tallahassee for college. Service has always been a family value. With one grandfather serving as a police officer and another continuing a multigenerational tradition of service in the U.S. Navy, Steven grew up with a strong appreciation for integrity, responsibility, and putting others first.
He began his career in 2021 as a stockbroker with Charles Schwab, earning his Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses. From there, he moved into a Senior Analyst role at the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), specializing in Corporate Actions — mainly Mandatory Reorganizations — which gave him a unique, behind-the-scenes understanding of how companies operate. Before joining Taylor Financial, Steven worked at Fisher Investments as an Investment Counselor, where he earned his Series 65 license and served as the bridge between complex market analysis and the families he worked with.
Having guided clients through peak market euphoria and significant corrections alike, Steven brings a well-rounded, experience-tested perspective to every conversation. He recently earned his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, formalizing the fiduciary mindset he already brought to every portfolio he touched. The AIF credential reflects specialized training in fiduciary standards and Prudent Practices, giving our clients added confidence that their investment strategy is being managed with rigor, documentation, and their best interests front and center.
As Investment Director, Steven combines this technical precision with a counselor’s mindset — helping manage client portfolios, keep account information current, and ensure every trade and detail is handled with the same care Taylor Financial clients have come to expect.
Outside the office, Steven stays active — a lifelong sports guy who grew up playing baseball and football, he’s recently picked up golf and makes regular time for the gym, music, and travel. He was drawn to Taylor Financial in part by how involved we are in the Tampa Bay community, and he’s brought that same energy to our team ever since.
Reach out to Steven if you’re looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented point of contact for your portfolio — someone who blends institutional-level rigor with genuine care for the people behind the accounts.
